For all the players out there, think of this game like investment. Rate is low, i know but let me tell you as fellow of f2p player.
From i started this game until know, i didnt even pay for any sq and purely do story, grind and else. Even in my high lvl (100+) i just got not to many servant and just targeted good and reliable servant for gacha. In other words i didn't all out and keep some sq for good one.
Suprisingly you can use any of servant that you have to finish some sort of event, quest or even raid. As long as you have good strategy on it and have advantage class from your enemy.
When you have invest all your effort into your servant (i recomended to just focus on *4 and *5) including lvl up and max their skills and grail them. You can eliminate all the stage that you want to progress. Event as f2p player can even grind out myself in guda" honnoji as long as you use your advantaged servant againts the enemy.
Just that trust me, even story is surprisingly good not just some heroes that destinied to save the world or what. Each character well written and have a lot twisted moment.
after a year of playing, around 125$ spent i can say... this is the most fun gacha ive played,
i will say if you're a f2p, you can get what you want if you save for around 3 untis a year, yikes. as a dolphine ill say you really should draw on gssr if you wanna play this game and it'll be nice too you, but this game hates f2p with a passion sometimes but the difference between a c2p vs a whale is mainly just bigger numbers, witch isn't necessary.
so tldr f2p sucks, c2p is when you're allowed to have fun and your dream husbandos
The good: excellent story and exploration of characters unlike many gachas that only have visual waifu with no depth. In comparison to Arknights, almost all characters get screen time and love. Unless you are a Viking with a bloody axe. Lots of art for servants is often on point. Husbandos also covered! It's feasible to play with lower rarity servants and welfares are available from events for free.
The bad: grinding to level up servants - an issue in particular if you are a new player who obtains a newly released servant that needs materials obtained only in new areas such as LB1&2. Somewhat mitigated by daily login mats and event shops.
The ugly: gacha pity system is basically nonexistent. More to the point, it consists of the USO, which is something that requires you to roll extra copies of a SSR servant after getting NP5 worth of copies, and to buy one SSR servant from USO shop takes 10 USOs. Only usable by extreme whales. The gacha itself offers guarantee of 1 servant and 1 4-star card per 10roll on SQ gacha, but often the 4-star will be Craft Essence rather than servant. There are GSSR for paid SQ, tickets from events from time to time that let you pick a non limited SR, and on JP a non limited SSR, but some pity counter would help a lot. Best to have gratitude for the servants who come home.
In all honesty, I dunno about the anime of this game. I was only roped in by my friends who got the game because they watched the anime. I am poorly informed and I dont have the time to watch it myself. I did wonder if I get to enjoy this game even though I dont know the characters and all that.
However, the moment I started playing, one doesnt have to know the anime to enjoy this.
Its the first game that I played with this kind of game mechanic. And its more than just getting good servants and making them strong. Its all about using that thing inside your head called brain.
Dish out combos and chains. Dont be scared to use your servants' skills to power each other up and deal bigger damage to your enemies.
Behold the bounties of lolis, ooka-sans, and onee-sans in this game and bask under the wide spread of shotas, ooto-sans, and nii-sans!
Other than collecting servants that all interact with each other during events, you also get to cry and despair when the gacha is a total jerkward to you by not giving you the servant you want after all the bloody tears you cried and the dead bodies you sacrificed....

For those new players out there who wants to play this game I've a words for you "That's hell (farming and gacha) you're walking into."
We're basically Shirou Emiya but instead of justice we want husbandos/waifus but got betrayed with that expectations and wanna kill our old self..
Im f2p player who always wanted to quit halfway but with my DETERMINATION and dedication I stayed for the stories and farms all the 1-3 stars characters yeah it is a hell but when you're finished through those hells you will find a satisfaction that you gained through your hardworks.. This game has an EX rank story (including events stories) but also E rank gacha.. it is not p2w and f2p actually it is a pure farmings and luck game. If you cant handle salts stay away from this..
BUT EVEN SO IF I MEET THE ONES WHO MADE THIS GAME I WILL GIVE THEM A MULTIPLE HARD PUNCHES AND THREAT THEM TO MAKE THE GACHA RATES HIGHER!
I tested it out with one account in NA and one account in JP. both are f2p but the one in jp has better gacha pulls. idk if the rates in jp are higher or not but let's just get on with the review
Animation and graphics:
•Excellent graphics and animation. Some servants get animation updates from time to time which means it gets better.

•Amazing VA and many voice lines
Gameplay:
•Honestly I'm F2P but i have better luck than some people who buy saint quartz.
•My personal favorite way to play is using one arts servant, one quick servant, a Support Servant(based on opponent classes but I usually use Jalter) and the rest are busters.
•Tip: Lvl up mash's second skill since it gives you invincibility for one turn and fills your NP gauge depending on the skill's lvl
•Tip: Always update your support servants when you have new servants that are stronger than the ones on the support list, even if you are new to the game. Also use a funny nickname as it has a chance of drawing more people to want to add you to their friend/support list. Also, grail whoever you want but i suggest jalter if you have her.
Storyline:
•Amazing story. Good writing. Fou will beat Merlin's ass everytime. Multiple plot twists.
•RIP Romani
Overall Experience:
•10/10 game. Good Waifus. Multiple doujins. Gudao/Fujimaru has more doujin than one piece has episodes. The reviews i see here that are 2★ or lower are just sad babies who didnt get their waifus/favorite servants
•Login daily even if you dont have time to play as you will get 30 sq if yoy login for hundreds of days
•Rate up is a lie
•There are also 3 groups: Buster memes, Quicc cards, and Arts NP spammers
Welp im over 2 years in this hell and yeah can confirm that this is really "f2p game" by that you can clear any mode even with a lower rarity servant
hell some of my favorite servant was 3* or lower servant like best dog cu, kiyohime and arash
Now the hell part, oh you want that shiny new ssr waifu/husbando ? You better pray to god and prepare some catalyst or ritual cos oh boi even if u saving all dem salt quartz for 1 year you can still fail to get them cos lower rates and no safety net
Now the good part the story, music and character was really well thought out that some story makes me so invest ed with the character so yeah prepare for one of the greatest journey you can ever felt
Theres some minor problem like different artist that make the chars art so the art kinda not consistent and boy if u dont like the gameplay it can be such a chore cos theres a little to non QoL like auto play, repeat or even np skip xp
Overall its one of the top mobile game and grossing for reason, and yeah totally worth it just for the story and good written char, only if you can handle all the salt from not getting servant you want
Cause gacha is bad civilization
This game is technically F2P friendly in the sense that all of the game's content can be cleared without rolling a single quartz. The gacha rates, as you've probably seen from memes and such, are quite unforgiving, and even with the addition of the pity system, I have heard numerous gacha related horror stories. However, LSG is very generous with the amount of SQ/Tickets they give out, especially around anniversary. So even as an F2P player, you can quite easily save up enough to pity your favorite servant with enough dedication. Story is decent, some hits and misses. Gameplay is simple, endgame is 99% farming which I personally love. Events are generally fun to play, give out generous rewards, and usually have extra progression mechanics than just running a node several times for shop currency. Koyo best girl. Play FGO 👍
