Everyone in these reviews seem to be filling it with word spams, so I'll give an actual review for anyone if they see it.
If you are looking for a rhythm game that involves tapping a screen, and has vocaloid covers/music, you are in the right place.
This game has a very good rhythm game inside of it, with tapping that usually registers and with challenging charts as you move up the difficulty. The difficulty does spike I think between hard -> expert but it is just a matter of moving up levels slowly (or brute forcing it like my sister did, but I digress). The rhythm game is a very nice experience on both mobile and tablet, but I believe a tablet is better for the harder difficulty, however you should take that with a grain of salt as that is just my opinion! Playing on a wide phone is not a pleasant experience for me, since I have small hands, but playing on a phone is not a bad experience or anything, I believe the game does work quite well.
The characters in this game are very well-written in my opinion, even the characters you may grow to not like. I personally don't really like Mafuyu as a person but her struggles and her character, for what it is, is well-written. The 5 groups in this game all have their each seperate story with 20 episodes in it, which you unlock by playing songs with cards of the characters in their respective groups, or by reading area conversations in the overworld. The episodes are not very long and give a good introduction of each group and character individually, with the event stories then developing each character with their respective struggles and dynamics with other characters. There have been many events so it is quite hard at this stage to read all of them, I would recommend to read the main story of the group you like the look of the most, and get to know those characters. If any of them appeal to you, then you can read the event stories surrounding that character. There are also side stories for each card which can be unlocked using in game items, so if you are interested in a certain character, these side stories are a good way to know them better.
The gacha system is also alright, it is easy to tell whether you have a 3* or 4* based on colour, 3* means yellow and 4* means purple. The indication of a "flip" is also shown clearly, with the floor that Miku steps on turning into a purple circle instead of rainbow or the floor becoming transparent with the purple circle. The rate of a 4* being 3% isn't that bad in my opinion, and there will be occasional Dream Festivals, where the 3% becomes 6%, with special limited cards as well.
The cards in this game are also very well drawn, they have a consistent anime style and are very high quality. In JP, as of August 2022 when I'm writing this, the cards have been slowly implementing a newer style with the anime style, with nice colours and illustrations. The card quality in consistent throughout all 4*s and even the 3* cards are still very nice to use if you don't have a 4*.
Grinding for crystals in this game is not bad once you know where to look, (I'd recommend looking up some youtube videos before you start) and in the early game it is very rewarding, however once you reach Rank 50 and have played most of the songs with full combo's, crystals become much harder to get. It takes much longer to rank up and playing songs you don't like doesn't appeal to many people. Fortunately, in the JP version, the music library is much vaster than the Global version at the time of writing this.
If you want a version which has newer events, more songs and a more updated game, then I would recommend the JP version. Even if you can't speak japanese, there are probably translations out there for the game, and the UI of the game isn't that hard to understand. If you don't want to play the game because of the language, then the Global version is for you. It is currently catching up to JP in events but it has many songs and gives you the same experience. There are many instagram accounts that regularly update and post about Project Sekai on both versions and there are youtube guides out there in case you are confused or need a preview of the game.
I hope this review helped! ♡
I'm going to be making a lot of comparisons to Garupa, also known as Girl's Band Party, because they are very similar.
For being one of the first mobile games featuring the Piapro characters that I've ever played, it's actually really good. It introduces a few new human characters that are all interesting.
Pros:
Gameplay is similar to Garupa's, so if you played it you have an advantage. One difference is the notes, you can't really change the size of the notes in Sekai, and the notes vary, they can take up the enitre lane or be really tiny. Another is the character ranks. By reading area convos and playing, you can increase character ranks as well.
The game has five difficulties, Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert, and Master. The game can be played by casuals and hardcore players. So don't worry too much about game difficulty.
Song list is actually very diverse, and include popular producers and some who are not as known. Mikito-P, MitchieM, KZ, Kemu, Mafumafu, Junky-P, Nero, and other producers have songs that are featured in the game. They also were nice enough to include songs from other Virtual Singers
The characters are all really interesting and the voice actors are really talented. The covers are great, and I actually enjoy playing with some of them. Not to mention they're all really unique, so I'm sure you'll find a character you'll like.
There seems to be constant events in the game, just like Garupa. So there will always be something new to grind for, if you're into that.
The graphics are great, as excepted from Colorful Palette. The characters look so pretty, especially my husband Kaito. The chibis are also really cute.
Gachas are a bit more expensive, than Garupa. But they make up for it by being very generous. Reading convos and increasing character ranks are very rewarding.
Cons:
Grinding in this game is hellish. Training/practicing characters is a difficult grind to do. I don't mind it, because I have little 3★ and 4★ (not because of gacha rates).
Ranking in this game is also very difficult. There are about 20 million people playing this game, so obviously ranking is going to be tough. Rewards for ranking are decent, top tens usually get enough crystals to do one pull.
The tunning for the Virtual Singers can be very choppy. I'm sure they tried, but it sound super off sometimes. The cover for Fragile using Len and Kaito sounds weird. And Meiko sounds too soft in Hibana. It sounds good in other cases though, like Kaito in Dappou Rock. It could be tuned that way for the human singers, but it's not fitting sometimes.
Here, have my crappy review. Be warned that it's not nicely written, very all over the place lololol
G.ameplay ::
It's addictive and great. Song charts are creative and depending on the song, is a pain in the a$$ to play (I'm looking at you Lower. You're the only EXPERT LV. 26 I can't fc ). Flicks suck as always but it's really satisfying when you hit it at certain parts of songs(especially the gold ones)! The slides gave me a hard time at first since I was a bandori player but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy/fun and also challenging!!
There are 3 types of lives:
1)Solo Live(idk if that's the name.) - This mode is just you playing. You pick the song you want in whatever difficulty you have. You can buy more songs in the music shop along with "another vocals" of characters from that cover in the cover shop.
2)Multilive - It's on the name, you play with other players and pick songs. Most of the time, JP players don't pick songs and just click random because there's a lot of songs. More rewards and event points.
3)Cheerful Live - This is a 5v5. You pick a team when you enter the event page. I think there's like three days where they announce who's in the lead and who wins by the end of the event. You get 3x energy for the first two leads/2x energy if you're losing in both days. I think there's crystals given to the teams but the winning team gets more, don't know how much lol i forgor.

Songs:
I was just a casual listener of Vocaloid producers/utaite covers before playing this game.(played this cuz I heard mafumafu made songs here lmao) So I was really happy and enjoyed it whenever I played a song I love.
But, it was strictly the VS version. I didn't like the SEKAI ver because I was used to utaite covers and it felt lacking to me in some way.
Then I got bored after a while of just listening to just VS ver and said to myself 'Hey why not give a 2nd chance to the SEKAI ver??' Definitely did not regret giving it a second chance! Especially after growing attached to the characters. (p.s Some Virtual singers sound a bit jarring in some SEKAI versions but other than those they really fit lol)
--------
Characters/Story:
Okay, usually I don't care about characters in gacha rhythm games but this is the first time I actually bothered to read into the characters since I'm usually here just for the gameplay. Whenever I gacha, I just look at characters that interest me and pull on their banner. But that changed when I read their stories---
First unit story I read? Vivid Bad Squad.
---
Before reading, I really liked Akito, his vocals sounded good (and i love his seiyuu), so I never knew anything about how he is or his personality. Hence, it was a bit of a surprise when I saw how he was in other chapters of the story. I was like "Okay, he's kinda blunt but he has is providing a fair point.."
Finished the story and wanted to look into his character further so I watched some EN translations of his card stories on YT. He became one of my absolute favorite characters after that. Akito focused events made me appreciate him a lot more too (Haven't read his other ones yet!!)
I'm not gonna type out each of my thoughts on every unit story since I still haven't finished some but instead, here's my top 5 characters (Not including vocaloids!) :
1-2) Akito Shinonome and Ena Shinonome - (Any Shinonome siblings kinnies here? I'm more like Ena but it's a mix between them. 1st time I kin characters too. They be having good vocals and good event songs wtf,,,Fav from Ena focused events is Close to gray and Nomad while Moonlight for Akito)
3) Mizuki Akiyama - (Found them extremely cute, fabulous and relatable whenever I saw their cards and read their area conversations//card stories. Strong vocals, good for a band instrumental, imo. P.s that Usseewa cover game chills and absolutely adore her Bocca Della Varita cover with Mafuyu. )
4) Emu Ootori - (Haven't finished WxS story but I absolutely love her energy. Her signature 'Wonderhoy!' and laughs just give me butterflies in my tummy💕 Plus she's pink/her color palette is cute (biased since i love pink Ahah...) Also there's this one event I read of hers and made me respect and admire Emu so much that I swear I would give up my life savings for her whenever she's sad. // Her voice just brings my spirit up whenever I hear it. Emunene duets are great, they provide contrast! And i also love her voice being paired with Tsukasa's. They sound so energetic! )
5) Airi Momose - (Haven't read MMJ story BUT out of all the MMJ characters, she caught my eye. Her color palette's a shade of pink (that might be it Lmao) Anyways, I heard that she's a tsundere which I rarely like but she's an exception. (she's also friends with Ena so um, yeah) Her vocals sound good, patchwork staccato cover is very nice to me, ShizuAiri great duo. )
A bunch of characters can appeal to certain players so yeah, have fun finding a character that you really like! There's a lot or you could just choose all of them. Some can be interesting to you or just a 'meh' for you. Really recommend looking into characters that interest you.

Graphics:
My phone is a potato so I don't have 3DMV mode on during gameplay unless it's just the view MV option. But, they're really pretty and nicely animated. Probably rotoscoped which I really love since each dancer has a certain style that fits the characters they're dancing as. (Random but, the dancers from Fragile 3DMV have really great control over their bodies coming from someone who dances for fun!)
Also, since the new update, I think they upgraded the quality of the outfits. Which I think is good cuz I remember seeing how low quality some textures look on outfits. (My cousin who does animation even wondered why their textures were so low quality.) But, that also kind of resulted in other phones not being able to handle proseka anymore so I hope to god, I have a new phone by the time this current phone isn't able to handle the game anymore.
Live shows - I attended some and they're pretty nice. Love the "live" convo but I can't understand since I don't know Japanese but EN saved me from that and the translations on YT.
------
Gacha:
Oh boy....the gacha system here is a 50/50 for me. Either you get the most shittiest pulls or the most luckiest pulls on banners. I remember the time I didn't get any event card from a banner, only four stars from past events. Which, I was obviously pissed at but just stopped to grind again for other events. So you have been warned and be careful when you pull on banners. Or just gacha in general tbh...
-------
Overall, I highly recommend this game even if you only want to play for the songs/vocaloids. It's really fun and entertaining.
I am absolutely in love with this game! I first discovered Project Sekai (in general) by downloading the EN ver of it back in April-May 2022, around July 2022 I downloaded the original ver (aka this one) and I have never left it ever since.
If your're a fan of rhythm games, you should try out PjSekai!
Now that I've played for a few days, I'll give an actual review. I've been in love with Vocaloid for five years now, so I might be biased ( ῀ᢦ῀ )Anyway, let's start with the live portion. The flick notes suck, as per usual, although the sliding notes are fun. Multi live is pretty fun, as I tend to get very competitive lol. The beatmaps tend to freeze up in the middle of the lives, especially in the multi portion, but thankfully the game just pauses instead of making me fail a live. Gacha rates are your typical gacha rates, and I really like the costume and stamp systems although it's hard to get the items for them. The story is fully voiced, minus the Cryptonloids, although I don't read Japanese well enough to properly judge it. All in all, if you want a game like Bandori or you're just a simp for Hatsune Miku, I highly recommend it!! :)
best rhythm game ever, it has KAITO which makes it even more better, i hope they add more songs like Girl A, im currently trying to get all KAITO cards on both Japanese version and English version, i love the game so much KAITO, Rui, Shiho and Tsukasa my beloved, i have nothing to say about the fandom except that they get really mad if you use low speed and not use expert or master on the game
If you have played bandori before then you will have no problem adapting to this one. They use the same gameplay!
Rhythm game but the songs are vocaloid songs, as I vocaloid song enthusiast I just had to try it out and so I did.
I love the game so far I've being playing for a while now and I can say the events in this game are going "I am speed" and it will be hard to save up if you have a specific character you want from gacha. Unless you don't have a specific character you like the most, then disregard this one lol
I love the characters too and their stories, all of them are unique in their own way! Yes, there are bois here in this game too! (coughs one of the reason I picked it up as well)
But you know what I hate?... Flicks... Evil incarnate.. combo breaker, destroyer of worlds.. Lol, haha I'm kidding! Or am I?
Well, whatever, don't listen to a stranger like me, just try out the game if you haven't yet and judge for yourself!
As a vocaloid fan for a lot of long years now, this game is literally heaven. They have a lot of songs from different vocaloid producers, both recent and older. Unlike the other vocaloid games Sega has produced, such as the Project DIVA series on Playstation, this game features more vocaloids than the original cast. (such as Uma, Gumi and IA)
The art and cards from this game are simply amazing. The game has both male, female, and one nonbinary character, so there's quite a bit of variety.
The gacha rates are actually pretty good, from personal experience. You can expect 4*s in about 20-30 pulls, and usually it's one of the rate ups in the current event. Whether I'm just lucky or not, the rates are certainly not as bad as other gacha games.
The gameplay has to be one of my favorites aspects about this game. As a pretty good bandori player, it was not hard to get used to proseka's gameplay at all. The sliders and notes are beginner friendly, and the songs are usually really enjoyable to play, especially on higher difficulties. Even if you have no other experience with rhythm games, it's really easy to get into proseka.
I would love to see more vocaloid producers being introduced into the game in the future, as well as more wonderful covers by the singers.
Also Rui is literally too hot to exist. Also Toya. Also Akito. Also Tsukasa. Thank you for your time.
