i've been playing this game for more than one year, and to be honest while the graphics itself it's great (it has live 2d)—the gameplay is boring. going to the selected country, training your cards to have "awakening" character (chibi one) to fight some mobs on the event or challenging other players and repeat to get stronger awakening characters.
personally, if there's no event, it's hard to get some mana stone (can be used for gacha, replenish TP & MP, and other items)
gacha costs 30 mana stones for single (ssr guarantee 3%, UP characters 1.95%) and 300 for 11 consecutive gacha (ssr guarantee 5%, UP characters 1.95%), so it's kinda a gamble lol since it's hard to get some mana stones (or it's just my luck that sucks) but you're guaranteed 1 (or maybe more if you're lucky♪) random ssr in the beginning of game
the game is otome-styled, but there's no romance. yet you can interact with the characters to find out their unique characteristics (which is interesting since each character has unique traits) and unlock some things there.
the graphics is fascinating—the reason why i'm still playing this game, and i'm still speechless about this lol

for the storyline... i honestly can't understand a single thing lol since it's full in Japanese, but i think it has a great story there.
The main point that sparks why you should try out this game is because of the story line and the characters. The backgrounds are also very pretty and the Live2d on the characters is also well done, although sometimes I find some movements a bit excessive.
The main plot of the game is interesting, however it is the own character stories/past and the event stories that make you truly immersed into game. Every character has their own different story, ones that show determination, ones that depict a very sad past, ones that show hopefulness and ones that show how people can love each other. I have never been so immersed into a set of characters before because of their stories, the writing in this game is very well done, the developers have really thought well on the character relationships between other wizards, also humans and wizards, but also the main human (the player) who has their own set of mind, describes how they see the wizard world and how they see each of the wizard characters; and it's not just some background character like most other MC characters in games.
On the other hand, the gameplay may be tiring. I can see how people would find it boring. However, this is just a similar case like other popular games such as Ensemble Stars (before they made the rhythm game) which had a boring gameplay but a set of characters and story that people were immersed in; that is why Enstars became popular. Also, the developers for Promise of Wizard are trying out new gameplay and delievering it to players so you can expect new gameplay to happen.
If you're still unsure, or you aren't interested in any of the characters maybe because of design or how the cards look (although the cards look great the backgrounds and colours are really pretty) I insist that you read the character stories first. Even the main story. I'm sure there will be one character that you will be interested in. This is a game which focuses on the character relationships and story, so don't think so much about the gameplay.

honestly i have not played this game in like months but i got back into it again (sorry) and the characters are really goood first of all. i love cain, owen and mithra and figaro and nero and basically everyone else they are all so silly and interesting. they are all kinda unique
the storyline is also good. if i am correct it is about the main character training these wizard characters to stop "The Great Calamity" or how its called, i do not remember. (i wont spoil what that REALLY is but once you find out its kinda funny) it is an otome styled game and a joseimuke type game (basically targeted to girls? not sure about this though) but its not otome unfortunately. so if u wanted to date them, then i am sorry.
the gameplay IS repetitive unfortunately. you have the main game which is like where you click buttons like 80 times to finish a round (there are 4 lessons and 20 rounds sooo YES the calculations are correct... i think) but idk how to explain it well. you can see for yourself 😊
the chibis are CUTE
i think if you want to download this game it is up to you. i think you should honestly give it a try friend!! its kind of fun!! 🙂

Loving this game since I started playing last year. The graphics is so good! You can do free pulls as many times as you want ( until you finally got the card you wanted ) from the start if you’ve just created an account. Every wizard is lovable. I already kind of finished the storyline so I can say that the story is intriguing and great!
Though, the gameplay is kind of boring since there's nothing much to it but It’s fine for me since I can also play effortlessly whenever I'm doing something else. You can also visit the wizard’s rooms, cook and even feed them so It's still pretty fun.
Really recommended if you're interested in this kind of games !!
everything about mahoyaku is wonderful.
though there is no global version as of the time of writing this, and the very notion of one being unlikely, the game is easy to get a grasp on and able to be picked up and played when you have free time - something i find very valuable.
the character design, art, and live2d rigging are all beautiful, and every character feels unique and distinct from each other in terms of silhouette and personality, even if the story states that wizards who live in the same country have fundamental traits in common.
the story is also divine, with the perfect amount of stakes, drama, and a perfectly character-driven narrative that is dark and intense without being melodramatic or overly depressing. the lore is well-thought out and delivered in such a wonderful way, too, and you can tell that there was a lot of thought put into how the world works.
the title theme of mahoyaku was written and performed by the band mili, who i have followed and admired for their surrealist musical theming and artcore sound. the rest of the in-game music is wonderful too, with each country having their own theme, and a score that includes both intense themes and lighthearted tunes
the game is worth getting into for the western country wizards alone. please play it.
it's one of my favorite games, perfect for people who wants to multitask, it has even an auto mode so you can jump the story nodes while farming for chibis and for events, if your team it's decent you can go all the way to advanced calamities for points! also you can enjoy your fave talking all the time, it's funny they get sick and tired on missions so you can hear a whole repertoire.
But overall there's no sense in playing if you aren't attached to the wizards, if you don't like to read and usually just give up and drop over bad luck then the game is not really for you, because it requires patience and a lot of farming daily to get decent things and an amount of crystals for the gacha but guess what, if you missed your fave, you can wait until their rerun! and if you pulled enough you can claim directly their card on the store.
also!!! you can sell the cards you don't want!! do you find this guy is ugly and can't stand him?? sell it for sugar! you can get a SRR ticket with an amount on the store and try your luck again.
for someone who plays only gacha games, this game is actually very kind ;) so I would completely recommend it, also all the mages have a plenty variety of personalities so you don't get bored and the drama is a 10/10 in this game, divorces, killing your beloved and turning it to stone by accident, a man who conquered half the world bcs gave up on the middle, a boy who talks with animals but have a bad attitude,, the gap moe in some characters and this is the only game who has Figaro Garcia!!

I LOVE THIS! I GOT QUICKLY ADDICTED TO THIS WHEN I FIRST PLAYED IT LMAO I also love the characters !! All of them is so pretty and cute, especially cain my boy is so goddamn hot hehehehhe, but there's so much to do in here and it confuses me all the time but so far so good! The gameplay is quiet easy and so simple, yet, its fun to play it! Would recommend it to my friends even if they don't have much interest in this kind of gameplay😵
