I left a long review trashing this game when it first launched. its gotten alot better since then. i still feel they need an uncensored version and a censored version just like they did for Destiny's Child. We shall see what the future holds. 6/16/23
The game is starting to grow on me. Starting to enjoy all the new content. I can no longer say this is a bad game. I think the intial launch was terrible but they have solved all the issues and is getting much better. I still think the skin cost is way to high.

The game is simply fantastic now. I love it. My only issue is the costume gatcha and skin cost. If they were cheaper i would participate but dont see the value in it. its really expensive and not rewarding. Other than that this is a beautiful game.

If you love publishers who are here for the money only, welcome to a game published by Tencent. Game is slowly becoming more and more censored. When Shiftup announced the game the concept art was like Destiny child. Now it is more like the censored version of Blue Archive. Tencent and Level Infinite are in it for the money and do not really care what players want.
I had the chance to play the CBT and the girls were less censored than at release. Many people's feedback after the CBT was that the game was getting cenosred and not listening to the main outcry of the player base "Don't censor the game." But here we are. No one takes time to investigate the slow but consistent censorship of this game.
If you are someone who does not like the girls and censorship is fine, that is okay. I am talking to the people who are playing this game for the waifus
Okay, imma be honest, as a lv 53 player, i can say this game is good, but no good enough to deserve no.1 top app in playstore. Here's why :
- Every new games problem, overwhelming bug. This month, I've played three new games ( Memento Mori, Path to Nowhere, and Nikke) and they all have same problem. BUT Nikke is, if i must say, is the most bugged game of those three. This is the problems ive countered in this game so far :
* Notification bug
* Character story bug
* Interface bug
* Character bugs
* Auto aim bug
* Skill bug
- Really, really bad rateup and bad rarity composition. This game has more SSR than SR, while most of SSR are not deserved to be SSR. And rateup, maybe its just because of me having bad luck, but ive pulled 500 times, and still no pilgrims. Even FGO has better rateup than this game lmao.
- Overpriced Paid Package. This one, is classic Tencent move.
While my rating is good, doesn't mean this game is good, its just because the rating system in QooApp ignored microtransaction part.
There are two very dangerous things to kill a game. It is false dvertising and greed.
Because this game has nothing special to talk about other than butts shaking but it is censored so you can only see, coat and hair cover all butts, no butts for you to see as them said on twitter "no censorship" it's a cheap lie to attract players, and what they achieve is the player's trust at the bottom of the well. Along with a bunch of bugs that will follow you day and night, causing even the most patient to give up. I have to say the difficulty in this game is the most ridiculous and stupid thing the development team does well. On the same map, two enemies stand next to each other, but one is destroyed in 20 seconds and the other is 3 days later I still can't win, even though my team level is 80. And that's the difficulty for Chapter 7, these are the beginning chapters, it should have a relative difficulty for players to get used to the game, and on Hard difficulty, they should change the name to "ridiculous" or "quit game". So far I still haven't finished Hard chapter 1 with level 80 squad. Is the game development team making a joke or do they not want anyone to play their game anymore? Or do they think players will spend money to get through the ridiculous difficulty wall they put up. So I'm going to tell those who have the idea to play for free to forget about this game, because I'm stuck on chapter 7 and can't see the way out.
Greed is as bottomless as Doraemon's pocket. In addition to creating difficulty, Tom Cruise had to say " is this game impossible ?" to force players to recharge to upgrade. Then gacha is a combination of deception and greed. Banner Helm (new character) has a drop rate of 2%, which means 100 times gacha will give me 2 Helms right? i gacha 120 times and no Helm. Should I give up on Helm or this game? And the price for each 10 gacha is 3k Gems, 6200k games cost 100 usd, that means each 10 gacha cost 50 usd, Final fantasy 7 remake costs 60 usd, are you kidding me dev team . 10 gacha costs the price of an AAA game. In the end, it takes 200 gachas for you to exchange for Helm if you are unlucky. You know, Azurlane also has to gacha 200 times to get the Ultra Rare, UR is something extremely special, not an SSR, which is okay to have, or it doesn't matter without it. The items in the shop are extremely expensive but the benefit you get from it is very little. Most other games sell Mission pass for 10-15 usd, but this game is 25 usd. And to level up in the mission pass, you must complete a series of Tom Cruise's missions. And after 9 days of phenomenal effort with this game (something a mobile game shouldn't force players to do) I've reached level 7/15, and I'm stuck at a lucky 7, this means if i spend 25 usd on mission pass i can only get half of the reward,and the last reward (one SSR ) is unreachable so why should i spend 25usd on something i can not be achieved.. Finally, Gem, it is divided into 2 types, Charge and Free, really dev? it's 2022 now, no developers do that anymore, do you know why? because players hate it. There are so many good things on this earth, you pick the thing people hate the most and bring it into your game, well done dev, well done.
In short, do good gameplay, no bugs, the game is easier to play so players can breathe, then they can stay with your game or recommend it to their friends. for more new players. Then think about the player's pickpocketing, but they don't scream "greedy - liar" and vote 2 stars for your game. Finally, the free player, delete the game and play another game, here is no butt for you, but there is a very high cash wall.
Too many ptoblems with this game
1. Anti re roll practice
2. No selector ticket
3. level cap meaning if u do not meet the power requirements you will lose 25% stats on all units while battling.
4. Very unbalanced Skill set of SSR units. some SSR sre too op and some SSR dog shit ...worse than SR units.
5. R units are not usuable since you cannot limit break them nor you can Evolve them to SR.
6. No way to farm normal summon tickets, whatever we getting are just launch events.
7. 4% rate is a scam .... its more like 2%
8. Too many bugs some units doing too much dmg ehilst some units are bugged to the point tgat their burst skill only dealing 1 dmg.
9. Simulation is tedious and boring mode, we need QoL changes to it.
10. Requiring dupes to Limit break units... the pool is too big so getting specific ssr unit is gonna take too much time or money.
pros:
nice jiggle physics
good story
Updated Review 2025:
The game has improved by a lot and the developers have been keeping up the fandom on how to improve and make the game more enjoyable everytime.
The game is f2p friendly as long as you plan on your savings and expenditures moderately. It is an idle action gacha game that has a very unique appearance and you can see the effort put behind them is amazing (no pun intended lol).
My advice for beginners is to not stress out on being ahead of anything as it will drain your energy and your will to keep playing. Also, always remember you win some and you lose some: gacha luck in real lol. Players are provided a pity system of sorts and you get free gems and gacha tickets every day and every week.
The story is also one of the most immersive and well written out there that makes you feel you are a part of it. Characters make you emphatize, sympatize and regret which will drive your emotions in every spectrum. Story and events are plentiful which will hook you in the game even more. As players used to say: You came for the waifus, you stayed for the gameplay.
Ost, art and VA are amazing which will make you appreciate lots of things the game can offer. As for spending, it is a bit on the above average but the most reason to spend is mostly for special skins if you really want them that bad. otherwise, everything else can be gained through normal means and consistent methods.
Worth trying?
If you're fine with portrait mode aim and shoot games that you can auto and has an idle game resource management. Also if you like looking at "assets" then you should try it.
Is it f2p?
It depends on luck but I think I have to say no now. Why? (Just an advice first) try not to spend too much diamond currency on regular banner if possible since event banner use a different ticket than regular banner and has an actual pity of 200. That currency doesn't get removed even when you get the unit way early or when the banner ends, you can use that pity currency to buy the current rate up unit. Rate up units will be put to regular banner eventually as they stated.
-Burst types. You need to get a unit that uses specific burst type (3 in total+ 2 extra)
-Currently, they're pretty stingy with the redeem codes, it has limited usage so you need to be there the moment when they give one out. It's like one of those codes when a streamer gives one.
-Stages have time limit. Which makes having those specific burst types vital in doing dps/heals. Dps and heal is important.
-Unit stats will be reduced in a stage depending on how low your bp(overall teampower) is from recommended bp.
-No actual pity system on regular banner to be seen but you can put on a wishlist of 15 ssr that you can possibly get if you receive an ssr but it has to be 15 in total to work. I already stated the pity for event banner above.
-Need specific faction units sometimes for dispatch missions.
-Will need specific faction units(5 with good burst comp) to try out a mode after doing chapter 7.
-Need duplicates of the same unit to max limit break which would be hard for ssr (probably an end game thing at this point since I already reached chapter 9). Need 200 pulls on regular banner to get one full dupe in the refreshing dupe shop(which isn't easy in this game since you'll mostly spend diamonds for event banners instead). So you need to lvl up your max break sr first and do some of chapter 4 to unlock sync level to have your other units have the same lvl as your lowest 5th unit. You'll gain more sync slot for lvl 1 units as you progress further.
-Current event shop is impossible to clear as f2p since they limit the way to earn wvent currency and needs to finish all hard mode which is impossible to clear.
It's a lot of negatives but that's how the review is. A good amount of the negatives is based on how unlucky the account is, because if you're lucky with your pulls then most of the negatives and it being not f2p won't be a problem so far. Might be a problem later on though if we need to lvl higher than 160.
Currently, there's still a lot of bugs right now, I don't think I can tolerate it that much anymore. Like I said before, bp reduces our stats and the skills remains at lvl 1 effects even after lvling it higher making us deal less dmg, some doesn't work at all. There are bugs that increases our charged atks though, if they fix that one first we'll be way weaker. A minor one is the notif bug, that bug is everywhere even when there's nothing to new.
Love the game, but the 4% rate is fake as f*** like their 110+ pulls from launch events
Lots of dc out of nowhere, freeze and error message that crash or perma lock your account(got 1 after a 2 ssr 10 pull, now can't use any account from that phone because of error message everytime I login on any f***ing account?)
Love the game but the devs are s*** on taking care of it
After Helm update: got worst, now more crashes, error messages and perma lock accounts
After getting #1 they still manage to get the game buggier than on launch
Another update
P2w event 40k+ team power on hard mode lol, still majority of the units have bugged kit, still getting crashes but not as often as before
I was going to update the review to say it's getting better, and it really is on some things. But I wasted time doing the Christmas event, which I didn't notice to unlock the costume you must buy the pass for $20. Also, can't seem to pull the special limited characters no matter how many pulls I do.
It's obvious this game is far from generous and doesn't respect my time, requiring that I come in every day to perform boring tasks to get rewarded slowly. It's a chore to do anything.
Uninstalling it because they try to tie you into these random $0.99 purchases that are limited, but offer very little. Then they want you to spend $20 on passes. It's a scam at the moment. Boring and a waste of time. So many other games are better than this one and are more generious. They know how to make decent art but that's about it.
I'm just gonna list out everything I think its important to know about this game.
Pity system: 200 pulls for 1 guarantee SSR, can carried to other banner. Pity points can be stacked up as many time as you want for more guarantee. Example: stack up to 600 pulls for 3 chance of guarantee SSR.
Limited time event happen once a month and will give you free 10 pulls on event banner and standard banner separately (still have to go through the event to get them though), if the event is a big event then you could get more pulls.
FOMO aspect: only for collab stuffs and some costumes are hardly could coming back. Litmited banner only appear on special occasion like Christmas, but they will come back after a year. Most newly released character will be added to standard banner that can be pulled at any time.
Gameplay: Point and click, normal level can be repeatitive, but bosses are various. Don't expect Genshin Impact or Devil May Cry level of combat from a point and click game.
Daily task: Can be finished in 30 minutes depend on your speed, and under 20 minutes if you like to speedrun (20min is my personal record and not the objective data).
There's also auto combat if you just want to let your characters finish the fighting for you (the daily boss might need manual combat for maximum reward)
Censorship: only happen to characters released on the half of the first year after the game lauched, after that most of the later characters design are pushing the boundary of the game age rating.
Powercreep: not usually happen, only if the dev really want you to pull on some certain characters banner.
Meta stuff: only important if you play the PvP mode (which is just a small part of the game overall contents), otherwise you could just grind the heck out of the mid-tier character and they will carry you in most of the game content.
Is it P2W: I only ever spent moneys on costume/skin, and never have to spend money to make any character stronger. But the level up process takes even more material the more you level up, and will require more grinding, if you aren't patient enough for that you might want to spend moneys to speed up the process, but i personally have enough patience to not do that.
But the good thing is, there is a system that could help you level up EVERY single character at once.
Story: in visual novel style, really great especially the main story mode. The event story can be either really spectacular or just an average filler, but main story is always the main dish. You will hear many fans of this game praise the main story.
The story can just be cutesy uwu anime girl doing anime girl thing sometimes, but most of the time the story is dark as hell, not gonna be the Berserk or Attack on Titan level of dark, but it still pretty dark.
