this game's fall will be its disgustingly long loading times... if you want the real tales of experience then this is reminiscent of tales of the abyss' Ps2 levels of loading times
particularly the weapon enhancement screen is already pretty understandably hefty, but I experienced 10 second black screens just to upgrade something and that is really unacceptable. you have to visit this screen A LOT every new event, gacha you roll, team you prepare. it adds up to a lot of wasting time.
spirit gear update is really bad imo. game runs painfully slower and it shows. I'd rather the devs take their time fixing the game then giving us more features bc I feel like every new feature is just adding to their problem.
June edit: I understand that this is a very ambitious game to begin with, not to mention unprecedented. the latest producer's letter promised an update that hopes to better loading times. I really hope that a significant improvement is to come. I also look forward to tower update.
Tales of the Rays é um JRPG baseado na série Tales of…
Been playing this since launch, good graphics, great story, standard Tales game play. Game is fast paced but still skill is needed. i have won fights i shouldnt have bc of skill and tactics.
Can make a character viable to play rather easy with the prism shop but wont be amazing without master artes or mirrors. Grade shop is one of 2 mercy systems at play when doing multipulls. Amazing system if you get repeats; if you max out a mirror and get it again youll get a currency that lets you random pull for a mirror or save up and you can pick which mirror you want.
Go into it with a plan of who you want and focus on 4-5 characters and slowly work your way up to getting others as you play.
Every character is viable and while every arte isnt it does come down to personal preferences and play style.
Events have just the right length (about 2 weeks), wish there was a 1 day downtime between each event/new story chapter, but its not too bad.
Have gone 3 events without getting something nice/new (thou i dont pull for every event as i dont care for every character), then get a ton of swag in the next event with free pulls (with the current event I got 2 master artes and 3 mirrors; 2 of the mirrors were for the same character and the other i had maxed already but still got 3 mirrors).
Some of the newer master artes and mirrors have a much lower drop rate, which is a bummer.
Whales are here and make you feel weak but there is no pvp so its more a feeling of being a kid with a stick vs someone with a sword.
No pvp, but there is weekend coop which is actually a lot of fun (its not every weekend but it doesnt need to be). You get to pick from a roster of characters then from those you get 2 at random and go in with 2 other players and you 3 have a timed arena battle and you get graded for how well you do. Wish more games did this.
Biggest drive (and how they get you to spend money is) to get the characters you like and become better at the tower and challenges instead of trying to be better then others/whales.
Not every new arte or mirror is game breaking, and some 3☆ items are better then some master artes; i still ha e 3 characters who use 3☆ items bc they are better. Same goes for crossover characters.
This game is just amazing, there are lots of characters inside(collab characters too) , each are unique with different play style, skills and ultimates. Gatcha is not too shabby. I came in without knowing most of the characters (Zestiria player) , lots of them became my favorites now~
Update : Its been 3 years since i wrote the review, im still actively playing it and its still one of my favorite mobile game of all time. There are 190 characters in the game now! The Main characters from all the Tales games are here! Also with the huge version update recently, loading time are much faster, inventory management, upgrading and enhancement are much easier now. Definitely worth a try.
It's a game that I can definitely recommend to any Tales of Series fans who are willing to deal with the JP language-only interface. If you join in during the game's anniversary month (every March), then you get a whole bunch of free stuff and can make some solid teams that'll get you through the main story arc without too many issues. Even without that, there's still a lot of different ways you can recruit and strengthen your characters that don't require money - just time, grinding, and asking other players who speak your language for advice.
If you're new to the game, then there's always a lot of different stuff you can do. If you've been a longtime player, then there's probably just the Tower, Spirit Gear farming, Bond farming, Recollection Mode, Unison Attack (assuming you have players who speak your language and can do multiplayer with you), new gacha characters, and new events to look forward to... That probably still sounds like a lot to a new player, huh? I think it could get boring if you complete everything the game has to offer, but it would take you a long, LONG time before you complete EVERYTHING this game has to offer.
I would not recommend this game to people who are new/unfamiliar with the Tales of Series, though. Crossover games are not a good way to introduce people to the franchise because you're always gonna inevitably feel like there's some inside joke you just can't get. And if you hate the Tales of Series, then I don't think even a game like this would change your opinion on it.
On a final note, if you end up enjoying this game a lot, then please invest what you can in it. I don't want people to whale to the point that they can't pay their bills or anything, but if you can buy the cheapest pack they have during a big sale or discount, then it would help the game's servers stay on longer. This is the biggest and best crossover Tales mobile game. It was planned by someone who has a lot of personal gratitude for the series, and you can feel that in every aspect of the game.
I want to see Tales of the Rays be so successful that they can even safely consider bringing this game to other platforms some day!
I finally got all (tales of destiny) except (lilith and boxing guy still don't his name) thank to {7 anniversary's} free gifts for that.
but i... cannot got bored of waiting loading screen.
Sometimes the loading screen take 2-5 min and you realize that loadings is already stopped.😩
[the Graphics]
but graphics fine i can play high quality texture for mobile. The action are its easy move around, attack, and fast as well.
[the action]
i like the characters if they get full bar they can use special attack and they are fantastic specially all your characters you play are full bar. All the actions special amaze me attacking to another and another and another Characters so satisfy the look i like. 😆
(If only the game take you too long loading i can still play).
{AUTO PLAY} (here auto do lists if you too lazy moving or around)
story : You have to move around to get all treasures and battle a zombie creatures. i think? to get ⭐⭐⭐
events : AUTO (if your characters are strong)
daily : AUTO (same the event)
strong emesis than you : go upgrade or if you willing fight them! or!....
that it. play over over.
An absolutely wonderful transition to mobile for the Tales series. It's very easy to play and pick up while keeping the spirit of the Tales gameplay. Incredibly f2p friendly with a steady sourcs of diamonds, a gacha with generous rates, and lots of goodies you can get from login bonuses and missions. My biggest complaint definitely has to be the awful load times though. I migrated to Tales of the Rays after being sadly disappointed with how Tales of Crestoria came out. It's very unfortunate that the global version of this game was cancelled, but I'm sticking with the JP version until the very end.
normally, mobile game will always reuse popular characters but this will also let minor and notsopopularcharacter a place to shine. Besides that it has great battle mechanics at least for me. But one should remember this is still a gacha game so there is luck after all but there is a mechanic where you will get the thing you want by having enough pull. But if you are someone who want to get all thing, you will need extraordinary luck or very veru wealthy. Besides collab, there will be event revival so no need to be in hurry to get a character if it is not your favorite character
