Visually it is crisp and clean and the variety of cute sleeping pokemon is big, and the sound design is actually very good as the app is designed to make you feel relaxed
What I do wish however is that the game had a little bit of story attached to the unlocking of features and levelling up, and that the microtransaction mechanics were not so horribly expensive
Unfortunately the game makes it largely a matter of luck as to whether you can befriend a pokemon on a given night without the premium subscription (a better free daily biscuit) because they fill up after 2-3 biscuits, which is a shame because it does feel like catching all the pokemon is an almost impossible task by design
I recommend it, but don't pander to their absurd pricing expectations, it'll only encourage them. My monthly subscription to FFXIV costs less than the monthly premium for this game!
At least the sleep entries are free and always available...
Visually appealing, definitely look up the soundtrack sometime! Reuses graphics from the main game but with a kind of Flash-type of filter on it to seem almost hand-animated rather than 3d.
The gameplay is just a sleep tracker with parts to make it something to pay attention to when not asleep. No real story (some nonsense about sleep studying researchers)...
But if you have a SO, family, or even pets that share the bed, that becomes the biggest issue. The Always On part of the game is hardly a problem as it has a power saving mode it tells you how to activate before your first session - takes about 17% of battery life for me over 5 hours total, without using a charger so it's rather impressive.
But, again, god forbid you also sleep like a rock or don't have a hilariously soggy mattress that caves in with body weight. You'll be panelized for certain sleep styles and you have a maximum of 2 recorded sleep sessions a day. (forget rewards, you have to PAY to record your sleep sessions accurately) Catching Pokemon, raising them, etc is very slow and likely is due to the nature of the game. It's full of many "sleep tips" that even reference the fact that we are born long-sleepers or nap-takers, yet the game itself couldnt care less. Even rubs salt in your wounds by attenpting to grade you at the end of the week by the quality of your sleep. Would recommend if you live alone with no pets and don't take breaks or naps. Ever.
Game is slow as molasses, so if you like the slowest text setting on a Pokemon game and tapping your screen to get stuff to move along, this is the game for you.
Pretty neat overall, it has a fun gimmick and a cute concept. Things in it are a bit expensive, but thats's Nintendo for y'all.
Just feel like it'll be a bit harsh on the battery for being an all nighter thingy, and it must stay connected.. I already left my phone connected during the night anyway, but with an app actively running i feel like it will do some damage overtime.
The idea of it is cool but there are "features" of this app that just make it weird and scary. like the fact that it records you every once in a while during the night. That sole fact made me uninstall it. I want to add I was not able to regulate the sound that this has as the volume is just way too high, I couldn't relax with it as it was way too much for sleeping.
Worst app ever. if your not snoring or making noise when you sleep, it wont count for the sleep timer for rewards or progression. i sleep quietly so I dont get anything and brother snores when he sleeps so he gets rewards from the app.
This is a nice app used with sleeping.
Everyday i wake up excited for new Pokemon.
There's still some issues with the audio.
And it does drain the battery quick.
Easiest way to fix that is leaving the app in background and closing your screen.
Overall a very solid app.
I'm playing this in the most casual way possible, mostly for the sleep tracker. It's neat but I wish it was snappier, too much loading between doing stuff, I'm sure most of the loading could be avoided. Woudldgive higher Gameplay if the loading wasn't so common.
