Was good at first but this game doesn't respect your time. There is no quick clear function for the stages you already passed, and you can only manually pass them twice at a time. So you have to manually grind the stages over and over again. It's not helping that they lock most of the upgrades at a certain level. This issue makes me not want to play the game at all. The gacha is also 50/50. Rolled more than 100 times, got other S rank characters instead of Tsukuyomi. Not worth it.
well i can praise the BGM, the voice the graphic but that is pretty much given in most game nowaday.
That say, the idea of making AI-teammate instead of swap them around like Honkai or Punishing Gray Raven is... weird.
Because they basically became auto-mode, just level up 2 melee heroes to max then you basically don't have to do anything beside walking around to move the scene forward.
But i won't call this a bad game, just already played many similar games like it, this one just don't fit me enough to keep going.
Edit: after play it some more, rank up further to unlock more mode.... it is still hard for me to keep going.
-The material stage only let you increase drop up to x2, it is so easy that i just leave it to my Ai-member to deal with everything.
-Because of how easy a lot of the stages are, i can't even enjoy the chain ultimate because normal enemy just die before that even trigger while boss health is so low at that point to even do it.
-There are only few characters with bond stories right now and even then, it only have like 2-3 stories.
- While they seem to put a lot of effort into the skills but the ultimate evade before have much variant, it mostly just Honkai "time slow" instead of give you a counter attack to hit enemy back.
Feel like the more i play the more this game value will drop for me so i will stop at rank 30
This game after trying it? You can technically play with just the main character group in the entire game. The problem isn't the damage but rather the playstyle. Like ask yourself WHAT is your playstyle?
I have to say this before but the tier list is made with the intention of how easy to play they all are. This is why in CN limited version of Hera is the strongest. Its because she have the best support skill and AI mechanic. Like Hera is all you need to roll for honestly.
Now with the tier list problem out? First the good part
1) As I said you can play literally anything. This game is made by the same company that create Arknights which is a game where you will eventually get every unit... Also same as Azur Lane too. If anything the only P2W is the costume. They making more money with cosmetics alone lmao!
2) How easy to get S unit? TBH even S rank unit CAN be really bad... Would you believe me that one of them required you to play 20 combo skill? Yes its "Ryugiri Kagutsuchi" There's rarely anyone would like THAT kind... Also failing his combo will dramatically reduce his damage too... This is the kind that S unit usually be. If you fail their combo they lose literally all damage. Meanwhile the low rank unit have little combo. Anyone can use them without worry. It's really depends on how the skill combination in the end. Even the lowest rank can beat the boss... I just use main character team and already beat the raid boss. Ironic they deal better damage than S rank team due to combo.
3) The artwork and character appearance are also pretty good too. Also both voice fit them well.
4) I tested with the paywall and honestly? It's not too expensive and they didn't just added TOO many to forced you to pay it... If anything there's only just VIP tree for thsoe who willing to pay. The value of that thing is just a trophy too. You do NOT actually needed them at all... It will be a beautiful collection and that is all.
Now for the issues... Please fix this?
1) Colors... I don't mean the game color theme but the BATTLE theme... Why changing their color all the time? It will be confusing as fk to know which is an attack or which is the after effect of an attack... I have good reaction and can reach master rank+ in any MOBA game... I can't react if the color just confused me. This will be WAY worse for newbie or low reaction speed player... I would feel bad for them... Game shouldn't make it hard to see even more if its action based... Do that only in mystery game please not here...
2) Action indicator can also be confusing even when they uses just one color... Why? The whole stage just somehow share the same color as the attack location... Same as last problem I CAN'T SEE!!! WTF!!! I'm not color blind but why placing red indicator on red floor... Its confusing... Literally became invisible... Most of the time a lot of attack turned into silent attack...
3) There's no warning indicator of which unit attack. This will soon be a huge problem when the game throw in 100+ enemies in one area... You will get jump on and can't even reacts at all...
4) Long range indicator can also be confusing... This is because when its long you won't see the end of it to know WHEN the attack will happen. This is where most of my mistake happens too. Like again how when I can't see...
5) There's no sound to warn of each attack too. This can be fatal too for player who uses sound more than visuals. It will take them a lot of time to get uses to it...
Honestly to sum up the game is incredible f2p much like Azur Lane and Arknights. The only problem is like I said... The visibility is just horrible... I can't even see most action... Also your ally AI can make it worse too. You can't exactly turn them all down too cause you have to team up with them...
Like yeah... Please find a better color theme for the action parts... I'm not even color blind yet here I am... I'm blind and had to use my raw gamer instinct to randomly dodge...
Overall: The controls are simple, the combat is intuitive, and the mechanics are familiar faces that people who aren't new to the genre can immediately recognize and enjoy. Overall, it's a solid game. But beyond a handful of gimmicks like Ultimate Skillchains, it's nothing players haven't seen before.
Gameplay: It's a very polished hack-and-slash game with fast-paced combat and special skills. With the aid of your AI companions, battles can become quite hectic, which lends itself well to the game's elements of excitement and suspense
Value for Money:
It's free to play! But, similar to other games, it's riddled with microtransactions that seek to profit from the game's mediocre rates. On the bright side, the SR characters are, more often than not, almost as viable to use as the SSR ones
Its wroth the time, investment, and the download time
after spend almost 60 hours into the game heres my thoughts of the game.
it's pretty good, the battle and the mechanic was great and entertaining, the feedback loop of your grinding item was satisfying to accomplish and feels so rewarding after several match and get the item you want.
my only problem is that, out of every FEMALE characters in this game are 100 percent trash and by that mean, literally every female characters of this game none of them can offer satisfying combat with quick and efficient kills without wasting too much time.
in comparison, the male characters of the game most of them offer efficient, quick attack, not clunky movement nor cliche attack that typical rpg female bishojo game.
in conclusion, the only things that could ruins your gameplay is when you pick character that had anything related to female, because trust me you could save a lot of time in progress if you properly take your time by chosing one of male characters that the name i forgot who he is (he has that white and black hair, & the guy with brown hair)
Impression :
This is really an easy game which is good . Im just using default main team and it can clear story goes on. Let me review a bit.
Pros :
- Same mechanic like PGR ( fast slash action )
- Ultimate team combo ( the uniqueness of this game! )
- Low tier character? dont worry its depend your skill
- Go reroll if you doesnt like your team
- x2,x3 even x4 for resources clear dungeon on game mechanic ( hey this is quite good, im not wasting time for what i need )
Cons :
- Beware salty of whale / lucky account ( this maybe too much if you cant handle it like me )
- Pity gacha isnt really guaranteed ( shouldn't you make 70pull guaranteed char banner? i mean look saving all of those need time )
Conclusion :
Im only playing a bit and im really hooked with this game. Like what i said before this is really easy game not like PGR. i mean it.
If you looking fast slash action game, im quite recommend this game. Dont worry if your luck is bad on gacha, you can still reroll it until your statisfied.
This isnt about meta character or something, you can still keep happy playing even your have low tier characters. This is depend your skill and your playstyle. dont worry if you dont have tier 0 character based on CN tier list.
Game is just for fun right? Happy playing game folks!
this game is very potato phone friendly. it runs way better than the previous games i played (nikke, alchemy stars, eversoul, etc)
• the gameplay is similar like honkai and pgr but the difference is u can just play 1 character and ur other characters that u put in ur team is automatic basically AI. which is kinda weird for me bcuz i like having the freedom to switch characters but this also works for me ig
• the gacha is like usual (70 pulls to get a S character), but the game is rlly f2p friendly. u can get around 3000 crystals in just 1-3 days, even in late game. the only that requires real money is just some skin tbh and its not even expensive.
• the characters are cute! i love tsukuyomi and hel (also currently saving up for hades and anubis)
• story is great too I like the concept and where it's going so far
• for the audio... the music is rlly good but voiceline for the characters sometimes overlap (only in story tho) and when i finish a stage the character will keep talking until i get back to the main screen... usually the stage doesnt end with another dialogue, but its pretty annoying when it does so, i cant enjoy the story that much bcuz of it.
also the eng dub isnt really that good lol, im usually the type of player who use cn and kr voice over but theres only eng and jp here and tbh jp is better. other than that tho i haven't really find any problems so im pretty satisfied with the game
Is it worth trying? (I wasn't expecting the final rating to be that low to be honest, I mean it's decent but there's nothing game changing for me)
Update: Just so you know, you'll need to create 4 teams later on for recurring dream mode when you reach acct lvl 60. You can probably get away with 1-2 fully built dps per team.
Short answer: If you like easy casual 3d action, stamina based side game where you only control 1 unit in combat while the ai controls the other 2, then you should try it.
Long answer: The short answer kinda gives a whole lot already, I'm pretty sure some people won't like it either due to the easy part or due to only being able to control 1 unit.
First, how's the gacha?
First 40 pulls on normal banner gives you guaranteed S rank. But Limited banner needs you to progress to pull unless all the mail rewards are still there since 1 multi = 2k currency.
S rank pity is 70 pulls then guaranteed pity of 140 (Rate of 1.60%). It's not specified that it carries over to next banners but other players do say it does but I can't guarantee it myself since it was only talking about 2 different currencies having the same pity count on limited.
The standard has its own rate up which seem to cycle to other standard unit every 2 weeks and it specify that the pity carries over if the rate up changes.
Let's talk about the good side of this first. Okay, I have to add this since I didn't know this how the Functor gacha works. So if you pull an ssr of the faction of your choosing, it seems we can choose a specific unit's functor of that faction. That's actually good than getting rng specific functor.
There's these sort of weapon banner here called Functor, we have blue and purple rare for specific unit faction and yellow rare for specific units (same 1.60%). There's also a different yellow rare for specific unit faction but we can get those a bit easily on shop which makes our ticket currency for specific unit Functor very limited. Like I was only able to do 1 multi with the ticket they gave us and we'd probably need to use the general currency for more.
Second, How's the refreshing currency economy?
We gain 40 currency daily
We gain 1k currency weekly
We gain 150 more on Recurring Dream mode weekly (I'm not sure if it increases later on after reaching acct lvl 50)
We gain 200 more on Dimensional Variables weekly as well. (Also not sure if it increases later on)
We gain 400 all in all if we sign in a whole month. (I haven't missed a day so I'm not sure if we actually need to sign in daily or just the specific day of the week to gain it.)
If I haven't missed anything and calculated it correctly, then we gain around 7k monthly which is 35 pulls which is half a pity.
Currently, I think limited will change every 2 weeks and I'm hoping for a good amount of currency during events.
Third, about gameplay. Since we can only control 1 unit is it fun?
Well, that depends but it's kinda not bad since we don't need to think of unit cycling along with skill cycling etc. In here, it's just a bit of normal attack, dodge (slow mo effect), skill cycling for some units, shield-like breaking on bosses (not really a shield but similar that puts them in a down-like state), ult.
Unfortunately for some, it's easy but it's not button mashing. You kinda need some sequence on some skills. The 3rd skill being typically used after using the first and second skills sometimes in very specific sequence or just let the ai use the unit for you. You can just be the healer unit at the back if you want to or not even use any healer at all since it's possible to survive with a separate support passive we can use.
The ults, we still do activate individual unit ults ourselves and we can activate 1, 2 or 3 at once if the units have ult synergy. Currently, only 1 can do 3 ults at once which are the 3 free units they give us.
Unit classes so far for me feels like a melee/mid range attacker/healer/crowd control. Might be more but I don't have everything and we can't test units we don't have.
Enemy classes, I just feel like it's very limited for now.
Fourth, other stuff like equipment/ set piece and fragments
We do have unit factions in here as stated back on gacha, It's not just for the Functors but also for 3 pc set effects called Sigils
We can equip 2 set effects. Those Sigils we can farm can have a unit faction buff that we have a currency we can obtain to reroll it to a different unit faction. I suggest wait for 5 star before leveling.
These Sigils also have a fixed passive stats and an additional 4 we can add at a higher Sigil level which we can also reroll.
Another use of unit faction is that it gives us team buffs if we're using 2-3 units of the same faction.
I'm not sure if it's fortunate or not but we have character fragments in here which we can increase the unit's rarity. There's A, S, SS, SSS and I'm not sure how to read the last one, let's say it's cursive n. From A rank to cursive n rank we need 318 fragments. If it's an S rank then 300 fragments.
There's a daily refresh shop that sells shard but I never seen high rare units there yet.
The Recurring Dream seems to sell shard of a high rare. It might be only selling a shard of a unit we have, except for the limited one for now.
We can also obtain 1 S rank unit from there probably after a month.
Fifth, my thoughts?
I was not impressed by the sound or eng va personally and they started the story underwhelmingly that I jus skipped it all. The value is okay I guess since the skins doesn't look bad. But I'm not sure if there's added effects in there since there's no trial or something and it's around 15 usd.
In all honesty, I kinda thought I won't play this that long but I already finished the normal chapters within a week and I reached chapter 6 without leveling any units up which gives you guys more of an idea of how easy the game is. The only problem back then was you'll lack the dps to 3 star a stage if you don't level your units since it wants you to clear it in a certain amount of time. Having said that, I think I did enjoyed playing it at least.
Lastly, will I drop this game when a different game that interest me releases?
I'm not gonna lie, there's a huge chance that this is the first game that I might drop when that happens. But who knows. Maybe it gets better later on.
The game is pretty fun!! It's like a nice mix of HI3 and PGR, as many have said before. The kits for the characters are unique and I enjoy the many different kinda teams you can build for different strategies and play styles
It's pretty dang f2p as well, and that's coming from somebody who spent an embarrassing amount of money on this game! Even in late game it's pretty simple to get currency, and the times when I didn't spend, I found I still racked up currency pretty quickly.
The game can get repetitive at times and the grind can feel tedious, but I feel that it's rewarding. The gameplay and battle system is actually really fun, so even though it's repetitive at times, it doesn't always feel boring! So that's good
One thing I really don't like about this game is how timegated some of the resources are. The grind for the reconstructors is a prime example. Only being able to get a certain amount of a very important material every 3 or so days feels a little unfair. The timegating of certain resources is one of the things that turn me off the most about this game
Overall, despite its cons, I think this is a pretty fun game!
The pros: Really fun combat, decent storyline, charming designs, pretty simple and straightforward grind, good variety with different teams, fairly f2p, gorgeous animations, not too hard to get into
The cons: Timegated resources, can get a tad repetitive with the grinding
