I think I have played long enough to not be a first impression anymore. I've reached lvl 50 with my main character.
Is it worth trying?
Short answer: it's the typical mmorpg that has auto with a zone-like maps and has weapons/armor, familiar and outfit as gacha. You can also craft weapons/armor/familiars. However, the game has nft which f2p can suffer because enhancing/crafting things needs that currency which takes a long time to grind. Playing it on manual isn't.... Satisfying. If you're fine with it then you should try it.
Long answer that I made shorter:
This game for me would not be so bad if:
1: If the manual is optimized.
2: If we don't "need" to play all characters(5) doing all the story and leveling all over again just to get the stuff needed like inventory space, territe increase.
3: If there's no territe needed for enhancing gear/familiars or craft gear since only global server has that one which they made as an nft making f2p having a harder time to enhance/progress further.
4: If the server is more stable.
So far the thing that is adequate for me are:
1: Kingdom defense (defend the guild core against wave of ai enemies)
2: Lava Valley Team Arena (3v3 live pvp) Although, would've been better if everyone is on equal standing in terms of stats.
3: Familiar Adventure (A hex-based map where we deploy familiars to fight other ai familiars on auto for resources) Would've been better if deploying isn't so limited, needs tickets that refreshes daily to play.
Most of the time you'll just be watching your character do stuff automatically. Strikes me more as a resource management game with RPG functions. The soundtrack is stellar though, characters are very charming and despite not being able to change your character's gender (it's class-locked) you can give them a lot of personality through various costumes and dyes for said costumes. Not the most generous game when it comes to certain currencies (Gold — the main currency in the game — is an extremely valuable resource. Be careful not to spend it on things that will translate into insignificant raises to your combat power). Upgrading equipment is a chore, but I quite like the familiars (pets that fight alongside you) even though the system for upgrading them is similar to the weapons and equipment one, they can't "break" if you fail an upgrade (which requires another scarce item to fix) and you can equip them with every class (same goes for equipment, but not weapons). Of course, they matter less in terms of combat power but I focus more on them since they require less resources to upgrade and are less frustrating to manage (weapons and armor take up your INCREDIBLY limited backpack space, they can break and are a pain to manage sometimes). There's a lot to do every day and events happen all the time, the game is still undergoing major changes quite frequently so there's still room for improvement. Give it a try if you're a fan of resource managing I guess.
The game is finally and officially in english no more rooted phone trick to translate the text in english. I played this for 3mos. in korean version because no matter what I do my phone wont translate it to japanese text smh.
"No matter what you do max out your 3* gears" theyre better than 4* if youre planning to play this as an F2P.
so time to write down review for this game (imo ofc)
1. Graphic: obviously good (with Ghibli theme in this game)
2. Sound/music: Eh....I guess they are OK, still suit the scene
3. Gameplay:
- Typical MMORPG you may know very much about it (auto everything - quest run, battle, AFK farm,...)
- Say with battle system: action type, but kinda "meh" if you play manually: evasion cooldown 5s, unable to do auto-aim and have to manually change to right direction to fight (kinda bad with anyone play ranged class) - so just stick with auto fight unless you have to
- Character customize is OK, but gender, body size/type are fixed on each class (kinda meh but still can changing other thing at least)
- PvP and PK, with some class or pet can do ailment to stop/slow down target, it kinda meh (and ranged class have more advantage) 😐
- Familiar (or pet, for short) is OK, they help fighting and increase your stat a bit (get through gacha, catching or hatching)
- Mount help increasing stat and moving in map faster (improving stat (even owned them) is useful but some of them have to buy via paid bundle, another p2w i see)
- About equipment, or more specific, weapon and armor, you can get them via gacha or crafting, but as F2P, sticking with 3* equipment is better.
+ And wtf, why even gear crafting has gacha thingy here🤨, not say about status, say about the gear you get will be "random".
- This game is good for anyone who like exploring (collect, explore many things and put in Collection, get to improve your stat further)
- Many dungeon type and quest to do, that's OK for me
(oh even have World Boss)
- As enjoying type, this game is good: quite many emoticon/pose to do, interact with items in map, or take screenshot (it even have photo edit mode here)
- Familiar's Forest seems ok, but it lacks many furnitures.
- Tutorial is kinda....meh, I didn't say it guide me wrongly, but they set up Tutorial so random in each quest and not even useful after doing many things here (example: complete main story "Ignis" and the game guide you to try Fast Travel, but before this, I already used Fast Travel many times and now they guided this?)
+ Say tutorial, they should skip tutorial when playing another character on same account.
- AI Mode: basically offline farming in a chosen area, but maximum each day is 4 hours. It's good for busy player, but seems maximum time here kinda short.
- Now with Familiar Adventure and Familiar Arena, you may need to gather and upgrade more Familiar possible (at least dont have to pay for it because you can use familiar you hatch to fight)
4. Story: I can't say for sure but it seems normal to me, mostly in game beside "Soul Dive" is about typical fantasy story.
5. Others:
- Got few graphic bug, but not much to say
- Gacha factor in this game is almost everywhere, not really what I like (I didnt say about its rate, but about using this too much), oh and also don't try to spend most Diamond on gacha, it's not worth (if you are f2p), because these Diamond is not easy to farm tbh
- Payment is OK to me, but seems they pop-up too much bundle, the game is usual p2w as it seems
> So put this simply, this game is OK if you are just enjoying type (wandering around map, take selfie, chatting,...) thus say about farming, just.....AFK and sleep 😐
{edit}
Graphics- it's Ghibli theme Mmorpg with a story twist, it like SAO thing called "Soul dive" i say i am not interested in such story anymore i rather have unique story. for graphics it's nice and the color is lively and bright you can say it has closer graphics in Genshin Impact. just close but didn't say similar.
Sound- as for sound it's okay but i usually low the volume because i only heard the battle scream at skill effects than actual BGM.
GAMEPLAY- Nothing new about this game if you are familliar with MMORPG, Auto Battle, Offline Battle (Ai mode) which give you max 4hrs free offline battle everyday and you can purchase another 1hr for 50 gems so on. max 10 purchase per day. but i tell ya gems are really gems you can't loot them, you can only obtain it in story quest reward or some weekly quest, i would not recommend using gems pulling in gacha because the rate are pretty bad. jist use the free tickets they give. and if you are f2p focus on 3* equips, not 2* it has no bonus attributes even tier up.
what else, there are plenty of things to do everyday such as field boss/ world boss like 4 times a day appearance but the main problem here is the que or players, before you can login you have to wait like 10-15mins if pending players has 500-1000 in line imagine when you logout you have to wait again that long. you can't even play in your free time because of that, even it has lots of server, overflowing servers never fix, i suspect because it has PC version that can crossplat in mobile which others play like 4-5 accounts, you know this game become NFT sooner or later. they farming territe. character customization is limited you can only choose to 5 characters with specific class so it will be gender lock also, still you can use them alternately with equip sharing also/inventory, no stats to distribute but has some unlockable grid of attributes and skill set to choose (if you buy them first). so many things to discuss but i leave the rest to you if you are gonna try this game.
STORYLINE- as i mention earlier it involved Soul dive the other players think it's a game but it's actual fantasy world. they soul link in that world. if you are familliar with SAO you have a slightest hint where it going.
VALUE- F2P and P2W has a huge gap since this is a CP based mmorpg. you can't grind for level nor get strong logging 24/7. sure it has no stamina but without the pots for increasing drop rate, it just a waste of time unless you are playing using emulators/PC. Gacha is pretty bad rate, those 3* you can get in gacha can be obtain also in crafting weapons and armors. i suggest you save the gems for pots (increasing xp/drop rate) only.
i think this game is not good nor bad just right if you are looking for decent mmorpg, it just has lots of servers and always adding new server every week, be sure to ask your friend first before creating it cannot transfer progress to another server. you have to create each server.
I really like this game! It's good, since it was made by a company that only makes Anime movies (Studio Ghibli). What i don't like, though, is that the attack buttons are so small, i feel forced to use auto.
At first I really enjoyed the game. Started going downhill for me when I started having storage issues. Having to constantly make room for new stuff was a hazle for me. I'd still recommed you give it a try and make your own opinion.
Nonetheless this is gonna be my new main MMORPG after I haven't play any MMORPG more than 10 years. Yes I do opened Genshin Impact but only level 2 then throw away the game.
People are stupid and can't read "Pre download". Thinking their game is broken or the release is delayed. The only thing to worry about is this is going to have some NFT related schemes in it. Well, that and the fact that it's run by Netmarble.
