Story is good, just what you expect from Key. The comedy is there and the heavy part hit hard when it come.
Gameplay are kinda monotone and the fact that Rank S character are having hard time in high level boss battle say a lot about the meta. The power gap between Rank S and Rank SS is just that much.
Music is one of the greatest factor alongside with character design both in visual and personality of each character. Getting some good laugh from the interaction between character.
This is really visual novel quality for the story and characters. As for the battle is there to show that the characters are living on dangerous era where death comes swiftly, especially when fighting boss as you will fail immediately if even 1member of your team is dead and some of them have 1 shot skill.
Really recommend this game to story lover. Its the main point of this game at least for me
Wonderful game. The storyline is very heartfelt, but can also be super funny at times. The main character, Kayamori, is hilarious.
Pros:
♡ One of the best stories I have come across in a mobile game (funny, heart wrenching, interesting concept)
♡ Female protagonist!!
♡ Has a gacha system, but is not super focused on it. I feel like it is more of a fun bonus to get cool characters. If you have at least like 2 SSR characters (the game gives you 2 free) and level them, you won't have any trouble with story fights. If you want to do the extra challenge stuff, you can focus on gacha more.
♡ Event stories are just as good as the main story. Some got me crying lol
♡ No stamina system for main story - you can play as much as you want. Stamina is used for extra / side stuff.
♡ Comparable to a Persona game (has Free Time, something similar to Social Links, plays in a day-by-day system)
♡ There is a side mini-game that is a tap/rhythm game
♡ Entire game is voice acted, and it is really good! They put their all into the performance.
♡ Basically everything is super impressive for a mobile game.
♡ I could say so much about this game. Please give it a try!
Cons:
♡ The only real con, for me, is that there is no English version. If you do not speak Japanese, you will need a translator of some sort. Hopefully this game will get an English translation!
What a weird game. At one end, the story is written by Jun f**king Maeda and so might(?) just be one of the best stories shoved in a mobile game?? ever??? (I am biased) the score is also just... wow please inject more straight into my veins RIGHT NOW I can just sit and listen to this for hours.
At the other end; the combat... eh? It gets a bit repetitive sometimes, but the animations are GORGEOUS so...
although big bosses can be hell sometimes (only if you're dumb like me though)
But man if beating them doesn't feel hella satisfying tho (especially with that victory theme got DAMN)
Play your prism battles, grind that equipment (arena, dungeons), FINISH THE WEEKLY QUESTS
Your weeklys are what's gonna let you limit break your SS styles for free.
Gettihg SS can still suck though so,,, but like typical gacha moment ig no *real* problems there
rewards are fairly generous anyway, with at least 110 a day just for logging in and playing for like 10min
ofc you're encouraged to buy stuff, like both monthly passes; ~2,200quartz/mon for about $30 (3,000qz in a 10 roll btw)
all in all, I recommend this pretty much on the story ans music alone. Character stories ar also worthwhile, though it sucks because they always make me immediately want the associated SS style (pain).
Just remember to do all your dailys/weeklys (yes, even the 500 battle one, use arena), and make sure to properly build stuff if you don't want to absolutely struggle with story bosses. ACCESSORIES AR KEY.
天然巫女 (Tenne Miko) SS Debuffer is the free SS I chose out of the tutorial and the one I recommend, just make sure you get a good healer, defender, and potentially buffer.
gl :)
Update: end of the event story had me crying like the end of Angel Beats! . I mean, it was just like straight up an episode. IRIE BACKSTORY LESS GOOOO (on par with Yui's?? okay, maybe not *quite*, but it's definitely upthere)
UPDATE KAI: whoops forgot for a few months my b :p
anyway, $100 dollars later and Kanade was mine yay!
worth
Key famous for its nakige top quality, full voiced scenarios and developed by WFS that listens to the players: Heaven Burns Red is truly loved premium gacha story-driven JRPG game.
If you're familiar with FGO, its gameplay is definitely not FGO with attack cards. With six characters in party, you attack Cancers for few turns with appropriate effective types while gaining Skill Points per turns. Instead of attack cards, you use skills to deal high damage to them and of course HBR has special skills for high costs. And what's nice is, you can switch your characters during your turn unlimited, which is actually nice.
I super recommend you to get Tama SS. She helps me tons to keep up with high difficulties since well, there's a reason: you gotta win with all characters alive or 1 fallen comrade for total defeat. That's where she comes: full DP revive skill. DP is your life point in this game while your HP is your emergency life point. Super need.
Once again, premium quality gacha game. I spent a $100 on HBR I couldn't help it, but of course it's Key after all so definitely worth its effort and all the investment! And I'm not gonna say anything about the story other than: it's easily make you invested if you understand enough Japanese and you just have to experience it yourself!
Easy 5/5.
Storyline and music are the highlights of this game.
Characters are likeable, and those involved directly in the story are interesting and unique.
Main issue with this game is power creep, which is ridiculous. I was very very lucky to get 6 SS character (Enough for Full Party), all are on average within 10 levels to max level without limit break (Lvl 90), with the best equipment thus far. Yet I barely pass the min power rating needed for the later chapters.
This game is not joking with its min power rating.
Power level differences between the rank A -> S -> SS is huge. Duplicates of an SS increases the stats multiplier by a lot.
Although there is no PvP, the PvE factors alone creates a P2W situation as it's just that difficult.
The Event [Requiem for the Blue], forces you to use particular characters, you are not allowed to use your main party. I never got them before, so I'm stuck with their free A-rank versions.
I was struggling to get past even the 1st battle of the event till I levelled to the max. Couldn't clear the last battle till I fully redeemed an S-Rank of the event and fortunate enough to pull an SS-Rank for one of the mandatory characters.
The power balancing in this game is out of whack.
If we're already needing the party to be at full capacity this early in the game, I'm not sure how they're going to compensate for the power creep later on.
Emotional experience with full voice cast.
Story focus game with generic simple battle system.
It is best to avoid any kind of spoiler for the best story experience as you can only experience it once.
I'd say at least try to get to main story Chapter1 Day12 and decide if is worth to continue.
If you decide to continue, hope you are ready for best arc Chapter2 and beyond.
As a gacha game, the amount of free gems income is very low compare to others. But they are quite generous giving out resource such as lifestone (stamina) and ticket (dungeon & prism). It is advice to get at least 3-4 copy of SS from reroll if going in as f2p.
Imo, the developer is very passion about the game, they are very open to feedback and transparent to user during the biweekly livestream.

secara keseluruhan Benar-benar apa yang saya inginkan, di dalamnya
grafis:
• Animasi 3D dengan gaya seni yang cantik (illustrator yang sama dengan illustrator di game azur lane)
Suara :
• BGM, loop beat seperti biasa, tetapi jika masuk halaman/ruangan event ostnya berbeda.
•Open world? mungkin.
Alur cerita:
diatur dalam pengaturan masa depan pasca-apokaliptik, ... (lewati) mempertahankan diri dari ancaman, dengan kekuatan militer yang Terinfeksi S.E.R.A.P.H.(dikarang langsung oleh Jun Maeda)
ISI GACHA, Dengan tarif kurang bersahabat. (Aku baru mendapatkan Rank SS karakter 1 sisanya Rank S) saat cbt, tapi saat rilis global rate gacha naik RNG tidak terlalu mencekik.

1. general gameplay
HBR is a RPG with some sort of a VN, a little of dating sim, time management mixed. The combat is turn based where you control 6 characters, 3 characters on the from and 3 on the back, you can swap them anytime on player's turn. The story time flow through school days, everyday have the freetime period where you can freely move around the school, doing bond missions, shopping, fighting in the arena or perform activities to increase six sense stats etc.
2. quartz
quartz is the premium currency in HBR, more detail below at the gacha section.
3. life
life is the stamina in HBR, you can keep maximum 5 lives and one are generated after 4 hours, you can buy lives using quartz, the price goes up everytime you purchase one.
4. general contents
in HBR you can go to dungeon to explore and getting accessories on the way, going to the dungeon will cost you lives.
prism battles are boss battles against the bosses you have fought in dungeons, you need 1 life to enter. Prism battles gives a lot of exp and drop materials to upgrade characters.
other things that consumes life
bond mission
freetime activities
subjugation missions
5. bond missions
bond missions increase bond LV to strengthen characters, they happens on certain freetime of school day, if you couldn't finish them on story mode you can use the time rewind function at your room to do them. Bond missions also give you character fragments to limit break character.
6. arena AFK grind
you can grind in the arena for EXP and other materials, you just need to fight once, then select the AFK mode then you can turn off your phone, go to sleep etc. the game will do the rest for you. Arena AFK clear time = your clear time +20 seconds.
7. combat
both enemy and player's characters have something called DP, DP is the shield that takes dmg when attacked, once DP reachs 0 the character / monster will enter a state called break and attacks will damage directly to HP, you can not recover DP once it's broken, there's currently only one character in the game who can recovers broken DP which is Tama Kunimi SS rank.
there's this mechanic called destruction rate, everytime you attack a break enemy the DR goes up, the more DR the more dmg you do.
8. characters classes and ranks
there are currently 7 classes in HBR.
attacker - deals high dmg to HP.
breaker - deals high dmg to DP.
buffer - give various buffs to the party, can learn offensive skills too.
debuffer - debuffing enemies with offensive skills such as def down, stun etc.
blaster - increase DR at a high rate, good for long boss fight.
healer - should be obvious enough but healer don't just heal, they can learn offensive skill too.
defender - tank, can learn healing skills.
9. characters ranks
in HBR there could be 3 ranks on a single character which is A / S / SS. Take Megumi for example there's Megumi A, Megumi S, Megumi SS...
SS is the highest rank, only SS rank can learn third skill which is considered an ultimate, third skills are very strong.
S is the second highest rank, S rank characters can learn the second skill
A rank is at the bottom they only have one skill
LV and some skills are shared between ranks, if you LV up Megumi SS to LV50, your Megumi A will also be at LV50. You can also have second skill on your A rank if you have learnt them. You can't have third skill on A/S rank, i could be wrong on this but none of my A/S can have third skill on them so i'm pretty sure only SS can have third skill and i don't see why you would use A/S when you have an SS.
10. daily quests
completing all the daily quests gives you 110 quartz, to do a gacha pull you needs 300 quartz.
11. gacha
there is no pity on HBR gachas, there's only "exchange point" so what does it do ? everytime you do 1 pull on the gacha you get one exchange point for that specific banner, with 200 points you can exchange for the SS character on featured banner, and it's the same on other banners, 200 pulls, get 1 SS ticket, that's awful.
if you think that's the worst, it's not. The exchange points do not carry over to new banners like genshin impact, once the banner goes down all your exchange points are gone, they will be converted into GGP, a currency you use to buy ... EXP tickets.
for 1 Lv2 exp ticket you need 5 GGP which is 5EP = 5 pulls
for 1 Lv3 exp ticket you need 40 freaking GGP which is 40EP = 40 pulls
an Lv54 character needs 38k EXP to LV up, the Lv2 ticket gives you... 5k exp, i don't have the Lv3 ticket so idk how much EXP it gives you but it's absolutely not worth 40 gacha pulls.
12. gacha rates
from 1st to 9th pull, you get normal rate, on the 10th pull you get a "bonus" rate and it resets to normal rate until the next ten pull (10 20 30 40 50 60 etc.)
on featured banner : on the left is 1->9 rate, on the right is the bonus rate on every 10th pulls
SS : 0.188% / no bonus rate
featured SS : 0.750% / no bonus rate
S : 0.794% / 4.279%
featured S : 4.5% / 24.250%
A : 1.646%
on normal banner :
SS : 0.250% / no bonus rate
S : 1.059% / 5.706%
A : 1.646%
13. poll rates
everytime you do a pull the game do a rarity roll which decide your pull outcome, here's the rate.
from 1st to 9th pull
SS : 3%
S : 18%
A : 79%
every 10th pulls
SS : 3%
S : 97%
for example you go to the gacha and do a single pull and it's the very first pull you made, you will get A rank most of the time because the poll rate for A is 79%. Now you keep pulling until your tenth pull and you'll end up getting an S or SS because the bonus rate on the 10th pull is 97% S and 3% SS and after that it resets until your next 10th pull.
14. gacha pricing
i will be using USD ($) and the 3000 quartz packages for reference, the prices might different but you get the general idea what's the price would be.
in HBR you need 300 quartz for 1 pull, 3000 for 10
currently in the shop there are two "discount" 3000 quartz package, one is weekly and another one is one time purchase.
both of them are at 26.38$. To get 200 EP (exchange point) you need another 180 pulls assuming you have bought the aboves packs, so you are now at 52.76$ w/ 20 pulls.
there is no 3000 quartz package for you to buy besides those limited packs, the closest thing you can buy is the 2750 quartz package for 26.38$.
because there's no 3000 pack you have to buy 65x 2750 quartz packs and one 1350 quartz pack which is 13.16$.
and here's the total amount of money you need to get 200 EP for the SS character on featured banner:
52.76 + (65 x 26.38) + 13.16 = 1780.62$
1780.62 USD for 200 EP and they don't even carry over to the next banner.
tldr : the game is good but the gacha is terrible, if you are an F2P player, plan your gacha pulls VERY carefully.
